For the sake of administrative simplification, the tax administration introduces, as of May 1st, 2021, the multi-year and electronic withholding tax card. The year 2021 is a transitional year in order to allow employers to familiarize themselves with this new system which will become mandatory in 2022.
1 Except for the employees under a fixed-term contract.
2 For the employees registered with a foreign social security regime, the issuance of the withholding tax card is not automatic and has to be requested to the competent RTS office.
3 Employers should soon receive an information letter from the tax authorities regarding the steps to be taken on the MyGuichet.lu platform.
